The Hot Liner Flexible Solar Cooker

September 22nd, 2010 | No Comments | Posted in Design, Environment

The utility of this Hot Liner is to cook food using solar energy. Unlike solar cookers [we have seen] which consists of a box structure and mirrors, this serves as the base on which pots and pans are kept to be heated from the bottom. The belt like structure is capable of capturing solar energy to charge itself so that it could be subsequently used for heating. Hot Liner is also flexible enough  [flexible battery, flexible panel, flexible solar cell]  to be shaped into desirable forms to adjust with the different size of vessels or when more heat is required.

The design of this solar cooker also allows it to be attached to other such Hot Liner cookers. This idea by Yonggu Do, Sukhoon Hong, and Eunha Seo has been particularly developed for underprivileged people who generally make use of local firewood to cook whatever they have. Needless to mention that deforestation leads to ecological imbalance and so we hope this concept takes shape soon.
