Email vs. Snail mail
Do you have any idea how many emails circulate in a year around the globe? Well, quantifying something like this all across the world is a hard job. However, thanks to USPS, Internet World Stats and other parties, at least we now know how many emails, as well as snail mails circulate in the US. The folks at Pingdom has charted out this wonderful inforgraphic that compares snail mails with emails. As you can see there were 14.4 trillion emails sent vs. only 177 million snail mails in the year 2009.
To be honest, this is actually a good news. More emails mean less papers wasted, which again means less trees destroyed. Good for the environment, wouldn’t you agree? By the way, don’t forget, out of all the emails sent 81% are spams!
