Benchmarking Android-based web browsers, Skyfire 2.0 tops the list

September 30th, 2010 | No Comments | Posted in Software

Today, Android has a plethora of apps. So it is obvious that the app store is flooded with all kinds of web browsers, some of which are really good, while some are just ok. However, if you are confused as to which one to go for, this benchmark results from PC World certainly helps. Out of the lot, five of the top browsers have been tested; Opera Mini, Skyfire, Dolphin HD, Fennec Alpha and Android’s own browsers (version 2.1 and version 2.2). Based on the scores it seems Skyfire 2.0 has quite a lot to offer under the hood.

If you are into just casual browsing from your phone, then Android’s own browser version 2.2 would do just fine. But if you are into streaming videos or flash-based graphics, Skyfire 2.0 leads the pack without any questions.
