Macy’s Magic Fitting Room

October 21st, 2010 | No Comments | Posted in Hardware, Software

Ever felt changing through multiple clothes in the trial room was something you wouldn’t had to do? Then you should be delighted to see what  Macy’s Magic Fitting Room has to offer. Equipped with a 72″ mirror and an iPad, the system allows you to shuffle through a whole variety of fashionable garments offered by Macy’s. You can then flick it over to the mirror and visualize yourself  wearing what ever you have selected.

The collaborative project by Macy’s and LBi International even allows you to adjust or choose the size of the clothing that fits your reflection. When done, you are ready to purchase. It’s that simple. In addition, the arrangement also allows customers to share their experience and looks in different outfits through Facebook, SMS,  email etc.

It is interesting to see how “the iPad’s iOS4 and the mirror’s Windows 7.Net WPF Gesture” plays hand-in-hand to bring forward a consumer-friendly and smart solution. The Magic Fitting Room was opened to the public on 10th September at the Fashion’s Night Out in Macy’s store at Herald Square (New York City). It is set to be there till November.
