Apple to make Mac App Store similar to the iPhone App Store

October 26th, 2010 | No Comments | Posted in Apple

Apple will soon start its own Mac App Store consisting of applications dedicated to iMac and the MacBook. As per the company this move is based on the success of the iPhone App Store. It is supposed to make searching for apps much easier as well as help reach a larger number of users. However, a significant amount of developers think this will make things more complicated, especially considering Apple’s notorius closed source ideology.

“Apple in a press conference Wednesday announced that the next-generation Mac operating system, Mac OS X Lion, will launch with a Mac App Store similar to the iOS App Store serving its mobile devices. Steve Jobs said the company was planning to take lessons from mobile and weave their benefits into the Mac platform.”
