Urbee, the world’s first 3D printed car

November 8th, 2010 | No Comments | Posted in Design, Science

Three dimensional cars being printed out….??? Any news of this sort could raise eyebrows, but the car in the picture above is the proof. Called the Urbee, it is the first 3D printed car brought about by collaboration of Kor Ecologic with Stratasys.

Designed by Kor Ecologic Inc., the vehicle whose complete body has been 3D printed is a two passenger hybrid car that runs on gasoline or ethanol with a mileage of around 200 mpg for highways and 100 mpg in cities.

Urbee is designed to be environmentally sustainable. This is because it can efficiently store and use exactly the amount of solar and wind energy you can collect on a one-car garage in one day.” Exhibited at SEMA Show in Las Vegas, there are currently no news about it’s large scale production.
