Tiger Stone, the machine that rolls out 6m width brick roads
Brick carpet! Remember the one we had come across a few days back? But what you are seeing now is a six meters wide machine called Tiger Stone, that makes brick roads look like rolled out carpets.
The machine has a ‘pusher’ chamber in which the bricks are manually arranged in an interlocking fashion. Thereafter the work proceeds with the help of gravity resulting in laying down the bricks to construct the road. Although the machine makes 6 meter wide roads, the size is adjustable for lesser widths as well. With two men at work the Tiger Stone can construct up to 300 m2 road every day.
Henk van Kuijk, owner of Brabant Vanku Machine from Gilze-Rijen understood the problem of extreme manual labor needed to construct such brick roads, and as a solution came up with the Tiger Stone paving machine.
