Samsung continues its success, to ship at least 5 million Bada-powered phones by the end of 2010

December 13th, 2010 | No Comments | Posted in Business

Samsung is popular in selling Android-based smartphones. At least that’s what the notion is in North America. But its own proprietary mobile OS a.k.a. Bada is also enjoying its own success, especially in Asia. The Korean giant expects to sell at least 5 million Bada-powered phones by the end of 2010. That’s not all. The company also estimates the number of downloaded Bada-apps to be around 50 million before the end of the year.

“Samsung’s bada shipments still dwarf those of other smartphone platforms, including Symbian, BlackBerry and Android. However, 5 million shipments in a year is still notable in the highly competitive smartphone market, and is a reflection of the enormous weight that Samsung–the world’s second largest mobile phone vendor by market share–brings to the game.”
