LEDs have a wide area of application but how about them being used in carpets. Cell Carpet with LEDs from Lama concept is one such example which sport embedded LEDs. The carpet with LEDs ” was first shown at the Paris Airshow into the Airbus A350 businessclass. The LED’s are fitted into the aisles to guide your way.”

These carpets unlike traditional methods are put together from strings obtained from pressed woolfelt and hence can be easily replaced by new ones. Being made from woolfelt also renders them “non-flammable, soundproof and water-repellent” .

The carpets can be made in a variety of colors and shapes while also allowing tweaking of the number and colors of the LEDs as well. The Cell Carpet with LEDs has been designed by Yvonne Laurysen and Erik Mante.
