Camouflaging Battle Tanks

January 14th, 2011 | No Comments | Posted in Science, Software

We are well aware of a number of organisms that demonstrate camouflaging. We even had a couple of articles in which people had amused us with their interesting ideas. What we have here is a concept of rendering a battle tank, indistinguishable from its surroundings, with a method that is being described as Active e-camouflage system.

BAE systems from Britain is currently working on the technology, which would use e-ink in combination with multiple sensors on the body of the vehicle, to create an illusion that replicates a battle tank’s surroundings. Incorporating this method would allow the battle tank actively camouflage in any terrain making it difficult to spot, be it in motion or static.
