On/Off Paint turns a surface into a Switch

January 24th, 2011 | No Comments | Posted in Design, Science

Check out this really cool paint. Oh, yes the paint. This special paint tentatively called the On/Off Paint when applied on a surface (be it an entire wall or a small part of the wall) makes it function as a switch. The paint uses a technology that allows it to be connected with various devices around your room. When you want to switch them “on” you just need to touch the painted wall without having to locate the particular switch. It gets that easy!

This thing sounds good especially for instances like late night bathroom visits, when you really don’t want to spend too much finding a switch. You simply touch the wall and voila, it lights up! The special paint (that can be applied with regular brush) has a light “dimming” property as well. It even works if covered by other paints or wallpapers. Spotted in France, other details on the paint is still not known to us, however we certainly look forward to it
