The iPad 2
The iPad 2 has been launched today by Apple. Steve Jobs, with his usual charismatic speech, revealed the new device and its features. The iPad 2 is 33% thinner and weighs less than the original iPad. The device is powered by Apple’s own dual-core A5 processor which is 2X faster than the previous A4. Not only that. The new GPU is a massive 9X faster and takes gaming to a whole new level.
It also features a new gyroscope, front and back cameras, as well as FaceTime, similar to that of the iPhone 4. The battery life stays the same at 10 hours “on Wi-Fi, watching video, or listening to music”. The WiFi-only models will come for $499 (16GB), $599 (32GB) and $699 (64GB). The 3G+WiFi models will be priced at $629 (16GB), $729 (32GB), and $829 (64GB).
Now, you can get the iPad 2 in white too, not just black-only.
