Trams and train compartment converted to grand suites in Netherlands

March 11th, 2011 | No Comments | Posted in Design

Does the table surprise you? Well, this is just one of the recycled examples of the Controversy Inn located in Hoogwoud, Netherlands. A bed from boat, a decor from traffic light, a basin from tire; you could spot such numerous and noticeable oddities on site the Controversy farm. The most interesting parts of the farm is a luxuriously renovated train compartment [21m] and two trams [which were functional in Germany and Amsterdam] that are open for tourists as suites for enjoying a day or two or more.

The theme of the Bed and Breakfast train is based on Mexican tastes which include facilities like a large bed, television, heating, air conditioning and even jacuzzi. So basically one enjoys a day in an old train compartment but with all the basic necessities available then and there.

The Controversy Tram Inn has four luxury apartments again grandly detailed with the necessary things. The interior of the trams follow three different themes which are Italian, French and Anglo-American. The Italian and French themed suites are each meant for two people whereas the Anglo-American accommodates a group of four. Each even comes with its own themed breakfast!

So not only guests enjoy their whimsical stay, but even obtain a variety of ideas about recycling and reusing found abundantly in and around the Controversy Inn.
