Bike rack that looks like a huge comb

July 5th, 2011 | No Comments | Posted in Environment, Life

It’s not a lost comb but a fascinating wood sculpture which can be spotted in the city of Roanoke, VA. Sculpted by artists Joshua Howell and Kagan Taylor of Popup Design in their very own Knowhow Shop in Los Angeles, this unique bike rack is one of the many which was installed to celebrate the titling of Roanoke as the Bicycle Friendly Community by the League of American Bicyclists in 2010.

The 400-pound public art-cum-bike rack has been “handcrafted out of Mangaris using full mortise and tenon construction, while the hair is made from powder coated steel.
