The Verbalizer makes Google’s Voice Search all the more exciting!
To add more fun to the fantastic idea of ‘talking to your computer’ [with Google Voice Search], here’s what BreakfastNewYork did; they came up with the Verbalizer, “an open source board to use with Google’s voice search for desktop ” .
The Verbalizer works by connecting wirelessly to your computer via bluetooth. When activated, it remotely opens up google.com in a new tab and simultaneously turns on the voice search feature. An audio signal alerts the user to speak out the search query using the built-in microphone on the Verbalizer.
The excitement doesn’t end here because if you like to tweak with electronics, you could build your own set of gizmo using the Verbalizer. The designers state, “The board is Arduino compatible and we left some I/O pins open, so it’s easy for anyone to jump in and create something nutty with it ” .For ideas check out the video.
