Orishiki spectacle case is indeed spectacular

August 11th, 2011 | No Comments | Posted in Design

Breaking off from the trend of normal boxes for holding glasses, designer Naoki Kawamoto brings before us an impressive alternative called Orishiki. Orishiki is actually a single structure composed of several triangular sections which can be laid flat. When required it can be folded to serve as a box for holding your things.

That is why it also gets its name from the words origami [the art of paper folding] and furoshiki [a traditional Japanese gift wrapping cloth] amalgamating the essence of both. You could check out the video for a demonstration.
