The Load Carrier For Labour makes transporting materials easy and safe
Skyscrapers are good to look at and to boast of but not much attention is given to working conditions of laborers who help in making that possible. Carrying bricks, construction material, bags of cement is an arduous and risky task which is mostly carried out solely based one’s physical strength [either loading directly on head or back]. Thanks to Vikram Dinubhai Panchal who had the time and patience to devise an equipment called Load Carrier For Labour to address this grave situation.
Meant to help workers in carrying around loads easily, the hauling system exhibits itself in three different forms. As shown in the pictures the Load Carrier can be used as a overhead loader or a back carrier or even as a trolley. Each of the versions can be easily set up using two knobs on the system.
Built of plastic, cane and metal, it weighs about 2kgs. It is put on using a belt and comes with a shoulder support for even distribution of force. Manufacturing simply requires the skills of local artisans with cost per piece estimated to be around $7.00.
We earnestly appreciate the effort and emotion involved in the crafting of the Load Carrier and hope to see it being used soon.
The Load Carrier For Labour has won the Core77 Design Awards in the category of Products/Equipment.
