It is not plastic. The pink bear is indeed a chewing gum sculpture! Italian artist Maurizio Savini creates these amazing life size structures using and manipulating pieces of bubblegum showcasing a very detailed craftsmanship.

“I work the chewing gum when it is warm and manipulate it with a knife just like some traditional material like clay. The most important step is the fixing of the sculptures with formaldehyde and antibiotic.”

They have been on display in cities like London, Edinburgh, Rome and Berlin, the artworks being priced around £40,000.
