Amazon launches Fire, a 7-inch Android based tablet

This was inevitable. Amazon finally launches their first Android-based 7-inch tablet. Called the Fire, the tablet is competitively priced at $199 a piece. Fire features Wi-Fi (but no 3G), a 7-inch IPS display (1024×600), a dual-core CPU and weighs just 14.6 ounces.

It will be officially released on 15 November, 2011.
