Reclaimed wood put together into fabulous seats

October 5th, 2011 | No Comments | Posted in Design, Environment

Who could have thought scrap wood pieces could make us wonder about them. Well, Ubico Studio makes the magic happen and that too with panache. Collected from “dumpsters, renovations works and the streets of Tel Aviv“, the waste wood gets a new life as they are converted into brilliant seat forms called the Wake.

The furniture are made of relatively small pieces of scrap timber cut to extremely accurate sizes and then glued together in a matrixto a block. The blocks are then carved into tree stump like shapes.
