Google introduces Currents, an app to read content with a magazine-like experience

December 8th, 2011 | No Comments | Posted in Google

Google introduces Currents, an app for the Android and iOS platform that will allow users to read various contents from AllThingsD, PBS, Huffington Post, Fast Company, Google RSS feeds and more, with a magazine-like look and feel. So, is it a competitor for Flipboard? Well, we will soon know.

Great content needs a great audience, which is why Google Currents is integrated with Google+ so users can share articles or videos they’ve enjoyed with their circles. Publishers can also associate their account with Google Analytics in order to increase their awareness of consumers’ content preferences, device use and geographic distribution.

Either way, reading content in a phone and tablet-friendly interface is always welcomed by users.
