Yahoo! co-founder Jerry Yang leaves company

January 17th, 2012 | No Comments | Posted in Business

After spending almost 16 years in one of the world’s most popular internet destinations, co-founder Jerry Yang finally decided to “pursue other interests outside of Yahoo.” This isn’t quite surprising considering the company’s rather unstable situation that requires some serious financial help and direction.

Yahoo’s current chairman is Roy Bostock. PayPal ex-executive Scott Thompson is its current CEO who has a lot to do. Most shareholders think Jerry’s decision to not sell Yahoo! to Microsoft in 2008 (for a total of $47.5 billion) was the biggest reason for the company’s downfall.
