Andrea is a natural air purifing system that filters air using a plant

February 10th, 2012 | No Comments | Posted in Gadgets

Trees help in keeping our environment clean and healthy so that we can breathe in the air that’s safe for us. Andrea does the same but for our homes.

Andrea developed by French designer Mathieu Lehanneur and Harvard professor David Edwards is a living air purifying device which uses an indoor plant to filter the air in our homes.

The device is equipped with a fan that runs to draw in the air from above. The air then passes through the leaves, soil, roots and ultimately comes out from the water tray free off any toxin. The device in collaboration with the living plant is said to be capable of purifying the air 1000 times faster as compared to the plant alone. We love it!

The product can be found in stores with a price tag of approx. $200.00.
