Google’s new $199 7-inch tablet, the Nexus 7
A new 7-inch tablet has been announced by Google in today’s opening day keynote at Google I/O 2012. Manufactured by Taiwanese giant, Asus, the Nexus 7 will feature a (scratch-resistant glass) 7-inch IPS display with 1280×800 pixels and will be powered by a 1.3GHz Nvidia Tegra 3 quad-core CPU, that also includes a 12-core GPU.
The Nexus 7 will be available in two editions, a 8GB $199 version and a $249 16GB version. It will be running Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean).
The device is scheduled to be shipped in 2-3 weeks of time from today.
