Molson Canadian’s Seed Embedded Coasters; a caring step for the environment
With the sole aim of making the environment beautiful and saving it from catastrophic disaster, steps are being taken across the world. Research for suitable alternatives and biodegradable products, recycling, afforestation, sustainable farming are just a few of them. Molson Canadian too have come up with an idea to instill people with the feeling of rejuvenating the environment.
The program promoted by Molson Canadian, a beer company, is called the Red Leaf Project. The program aims at encouraging people to get involved in planting trees, cleaning backyards and beaches, making changes that benefit the environment and the like. In return, the program presents music festival tickets to the people involved who utilize their time and effort for the noble cause.
Last year the move had already earned recognition amongst Canadians with thousands of volunteers playing their part to bring about a massive change. The overwhelming response led to the plantation of 100,000 trees with 129,000 tonnes of litter picked up across 1,678 miles of shoreline! In connection to the program the company also introduced coasters embedded with seeds so that when discarded those made way for new trees, instead of piling up in landfills. A green gesture indeed!
