The World’s Largest Scrabble Game
Scrabble has been the center of discussion over here a number of times. What we already saw were things and novelties that were inspired by the very popular board game. Today we bring you the board game itself, one that can be mounted on the wall.
This vertically mounted game is said to be World’s Largest Scrabble Game that happens to be five times the size of the original with the letter tiles so big that you can hold them one at a time! “Meticulously constructed from Russian birch plywood, the 3/4″-deep back board is overlaid with the classic purple-hued background of the original game, laminated with a .023-gauge galvanized steel sheet, and covered by a heavy vinyl print of the playing board which is protected by a satin laminate. Bordered by a 3/4″ x 2 1/2″ birch frame that wraps from the front to the back, the board attaches to a wall with included hardware.”
Two racks on either side of the board holds the 100 lettered tiles, each tile measuring 4 3/8″ sq. x 3/8″. These have been specially made and fabricated to last long through the years to come.
The World’s Largest Scrabble Game has been handmade by John Kahn, a “mixed media artist and creator of colossal pop art“. Only nine such colossal games exist; each priced at $12,000.
