How about a device that stops a phone from functioning in a moving car?
The rapid progress in technology have been in many ways affecting our lives. Keeping up with the advancements may seem beneficial and intelligent however at times it has been seen to be switching our common sense off. Case in point is distracted driving.
Distracted driving while using a phone cannot be termed a nuisance but a big blunder which some people fail to realize. They not only pose a risk for themselves but for others who share the roads. For those careless misfits perhaps a phone blocking device could turn out to be an ultimate solution.
Researchers at the the Anna University of Technology in Chennai, India thus have come up with a device that is able to detect whether the driver is indulging in a call while driving and then blocking off the phone simultaneously with a mobile jammer if the situation is so. The phone gets deactivated for the driver only ; not for the passengers who can carry on their conversation without any interruption. The thought of making our roads safer sounds promising but it is yet to see whether and when these would get seriously implemented.
