Canadian company World Centric brings compostable toothbrush to the market

August 17th, 2012 | No Comments | Posted in Environment

Plastic toothbrushes are a menace indeed. With tons of them being used and discarded, it is not difficult to assume how much of a burden they pose for the earth. So World Centric’s initiative in designing a compostable toothbrush does sound brilliant.

Instead of a plastic body the toothbrush is made from Ingeo which is a plant-based material and is available in blue, green and orange colors. However the brush has nylon bristles for which research is on so that it could be changed to something environment-friendly as well.

When ready to be disposed of, the brush with its head removed [ that can be broken] can be sent in the compostable package in which it comes to either a registered composting center or to the Canadian company itself.
