Amazing Pizza Cutters inspired by Chopper Motorcycles

August 24th, 2012 | No Comments | Posted in Design, Life

Friday is undoubtedly the pizza treat day! What else could be the default choice after a long week of work? Pizza means slices and slices mean pizza cutters. So let’s check out some of the ‘out-of-the-world’ pizza cutters that are definitely going to keep your pulse racing for more.

You might have never given a second thought to pizza cutters which is considered a simple tool. However someone did and with his imagination and prowess in metalsmithing, Frankie Flood has built an assemblage of pizza cutters that stand for art, dynamism and simple awesomeness!

In Frankie Flood’s words :”Industry has removed the aura from objects and stripped them of their individuality. My pizza cutters seek to demolish the sterile conformity of mass produced objects and represent the stylistic and flamboyant embellishment of groups who live on the fringe of popular culture. The outlaw biker image is a break from the conformity that has taken over America since industrialization.  My machined pizza cutters draw inspiration from chopper motorcycles and attempt to reclaim the mythology and economic usefulness of the American worker as patriarch; translating machine or functional object into flesh and blood.

The pizza cutter in order are: Phatboy, PFL [pizza for life], Gold Knuckle, Easy Rider, PFL Mantis.
