8BitLit, the lamp inspired by Super Mario Brothers’ question mark bricks

Check this out! Now you can have a lamp for your room that looks just like the iconic brick in the Super Mario Brothers video game. The exciting thing about it is that it can be turned on and off by simply touching underneath it similar to the functioning of the bricks in the game.

It’s called the 8BitLit and has been designed by Adam Ellsworth and his friend. “It’s made out of laser cut acrylic, a capacitive touch sensor, and a CNC milled circuit board with mounted LEDs and a speaker.“You would be happy to know that DIY kits are available for those who are interested in building one. 8BitLit is available as pendant and table lamps.
