Microsoft Expression Design and Expression Web are now free!

December 28th, 2012 | No Comments | Posted in Microsoft

Microsoft initially wanted to compete with Adobe (and its design products) by launching the Expression Suite over 5 years ago. Unfortunately, Expression Design and Expression Web didn’t turn out to be the Adobe competitor as Redmond planned. A few days back, the company decided to make Expression Design and Expression Web available for free. As for Blend, it will continue to be a part of Visual Studio 2012.

However, if you have recently purchased licenses for these products, Microsoft may refund your money in full.  “Expression Studio 4 Ultimate and Expression Studio 4 Web Professional are no longer available for sale. For customers who previously purchased these products, all components within Ultimate and Web Professional will be supported through their support lifecycle.
