Gaming at Bus-stops in San Francisco

Recently, Yahoo! installed poster-sized touchscreen gaming systems across 20 different bus-stops in San Francisco. The games are multi-player and therefore will allow commuters to play games with people at other bus stops. This surely sounds cool!

NASA plans for the plane of the future

Three different teams from Boeing, Lockheed Martin and Northrop Grumman, have been assigned by NASA to come up with the design for the “perfect” plane of the future. The deadline set is the year 2025. The “perfect” plane should be silent, fuel efficient, cruise over 7000 miles with a load of 50,000 to 100,000 pounds, and can travel at 85% of the speed of sound.

The Ice Ball Mold

We have already come across several ice trays that lets you make a variety of odd shaped ice forms. What we have here today doesn’t involve an ice tray but an Ice Ball Mold that shapes out perfect ice spheres. Apart from plain spheres there are also molds that make football [soccer] shaped ice, baseball shaped ice and even jewel shaped ice forms.

What you see above is a solar-powered vehicle, and that too the fastest one on the planet. Developed at the University of New South Wales in Australia,  the Sunswift IVy just got into the records books of Guinness World Record, for reaching the top speedof 88.738 km/hr.

The world’s smallest floor washing robot


Roomba from iRobot has been quite popular around us. Now the same company brings you the world’s first floor washing robot. Called the Scooba 230, the robot features a three step cleaning process. It “washes”, “scrubs” and “squeezes”, all by itself. It’s super-portable too, at just 3.5 inches in height and 6.5 inches in diameter. Overall, an intelligent tiny robot that proves that we are one step closer to the Star Trek era.

LG to reveal the world’s largest LED TV in CES 2011

LG Electronics revealed its plans to bring in the world’s largest LED-backlit 3D LCD HDTV to the CES 2011 next week. The LZ9700 with its massively large 72-inch will support both 2D as well as 3D content. It will also feature TruMotion 400Hz to deliver a super-fast processing rate and smooth 3D images.
