LG to reveal the world’s largest LED TV in CES 2011

LG Electronics revealed its plans to bring in the world’s largest LED-backlit 3D LCD HDTV to the CES 2011 next week. The LZ9700 with its massively large 72-inch will support both 2D as well as 3D content. It will also feature TruMotion 400Hz to deliver a super-fast processing rate and smooth 3D images.

Well, this clears a long lasting debate. Out of all the available mobile processors powering millions of mobile phones and tablets, benchmarking results from AnandTech indicate that the Nvidia Tegra 2 is the fastest of all. So if the next device you buy has one, don’t worry too much about its speed. You should be fine.

The Sha-Do Lamp lights up your room with gorgeous shadows

Lamps cast shadows but how about those which create beautiful symmetrical patterns on walls and ceiling? The floral design which you see above hasn’t been painted but is an ornate play of light and shadow by  Sha-Do Lamp in the center. The Sha-Do Lamp series has a wide variety of patterns which projects shadows of about 3m in diameter.

World’s first remote controlled gaming computer

What you see above isn’t just a computer/PC case mod. The maker, Stephen LeatherFace Popa, claims it to be the world’s first remote-controlled gaming computer. Based on the Level 10 PC from Thermaltake, the computer is built on top of a motorized remote-controlled base that also features a robotic arm. Very nerdy, very ‘WALL-E’-ish!

A quick look at Motorola’s MotoPad, powered by Android

Google VP Andy Rubin recently showed a preview of the MotoPad’s prototype. The device was running a tablet-version of Google Android. It seemed to have a 7-inch screen and featured a dual-core NVIDIA Tegra 2 processor, as well as a front-facing camera for video chat. The MotoPad will run Android 3.0 a.k.a., Honeycomb. It is predicted that the device will be launched as early as January 5 during Motorola’s CES keynote.

Airless Metal Mesh tires to be used in the Moon

The new generation of tires from Goodyear and NASA is completely airless. Instead they have been created from 800 interwoven load bearing springs. Of course these tires are planned to be used on moon and not exactly on earth. Tires made from rubber are affected by heat, cold, and solar radiation, which shouldn’t be a problem for these metal mesh tires at all.
