The revolutionary 3D Food Printer

We have already come across products [lighting fixture, shoes etc.] that were created by 3D printing techniques. Now it is timeĀ  to get ready for the 3D Food Printer which prints out food for real. The 3D Food Printer which was an ongoing research project at Cornell University is now being used at the French Culinary Institute in Manhattan to print out a variety of edibles.

WordPress 3.0 has been downloaded over 30 million times

Well, we all know how popular WordPress is. However, 30 million downloads is just plain insane. Yes, that’s how many times version 3.0 has been downloaded. The download counter showed 20 million only in October 2010. So basically there were over 10 million downloads in just the last 2 months!

Gaming at Bus-stops in San Francisco

Recently, Yahoo! installed poster-sized touchscreen gaming systems across 20 different bus-stops in San Francisco. The games are multi-player and therefore will allow commuters to play games with people at other bus stops. This surely sounds cool!

Public Poster, the message board of the future

Public Poster is a display board meant to be used in public places for posting advertisements, notices and information. The electronic board makes use of e-paper to save energy and also to reduce the use of paper and ink. A grid-like structure on the board divides the display into variable sizes [from A5 to A2 size] to allocate different sized messages.

Opera has over 85.5 million users (Updated)

Opera has always been known as that other kid on the block. While Firefox and Chrome continue their success, the world’s fifth most popular browser isn’t just sitting back. In a recent report released by Opera, the company said that as of December 2010, there are over 85.5 million Opera users worldwide. That’s a solid 84.7% percent increase in unique users since December 2009.

Microsoft launched a new web development tool, called WebMatrix. The tool makes creation of web applications a breeze and is a complete one-stop solution for simple to moderately complex projects. It even has support for popular PHP-based open source applications like WordPress, Drupal and Joomla. WebMatrix also allows integration to Twitter, PayPal, Facebook, bit.ly, Groupon, Windows Azure, PollDaddy and Foursquare.
