Scubster, the pedal powered submarine

You are presently gazing at the pedal powered submarine, called Scubster. Built by French engineers, this 3.5m underwater vessel is propelled forward by simple pedaling [no harmful emissions involved]. Although the compartment is watertight, one has to have an oxygen cylinder and mask to enjoy the ride.  The man powered craft can speed up to 8km/hr [5mph] with the efficiency directly depending upon the rider. The more you pedal, the faster it is.

The Bamboo Bench

Check out this bamboo bench by Elena Goray and Christoph Tönges. Called the Pile Isle, the bench comprises of a bundle of brown bamboo poles held together just by four belts of stainless steel. Simple and cool, the bench has the natural feel to it, that is hard to resist. Be it the park or the city, the Pile Isle brings in the earthy feeling that we so much miss in the concrete jungles.

The world’s most popular social bookmarking website, digg.com, has now a completely revamped outlook.The website now includes quite a few new features. An important addition is a personalized news stream, called “My News”. This shows all the news feeds from your friends and the people you are following, something similar to Twitter.

Now Gmail can call any phones in US and Canada for free, call to other countries available at low rates

Gmail Voice and Video chat has now even more features. You can now call any phones in the US and Canada right from your Gmail account, and that too for free! Previously both users at the two ends required computers to communicate using the application. Dialing a phone number now is as easy as calling from a conventional phone. The newly included dialpad is as simple as it can get.

Internet Explorer 9′s new user interface photo leaked

Microsoft is working hard on its upcoming web browser a.k.a Internet Explorer 9. The company has already released 4 developer previews, but it hasn’t quite revealed how the software would look like…until now. A recent post by Microsoft Russia shows the above photo which as per Mary Jo Foley of ZDnet is likely a screenshot of the upcoming browser. The design seems to be more ‘minimalistic’ when compared to the other editions of IE. Whether this is because it is still in pre-beta, is unknown though.
