Apple stock hits the lowest in a year

Apple stock (AAPL) has hit the lowest in almost a year. There has been recent reports that the company has reduced the component orders, due to weak sales of the iPhone 5. This might be the reason behind such a drop. The current stock price dipped below the $500 mark, first time in several months.

The iPad 2

The iPad 2 has been launched today by Apple. Steve Jobs, with his usual charismatic speech, revealed the new device and its features. The iPad 2 is 33% thinner and weighs less than the original iPad. The device is powered by Apple’s own dual-core A5 processor which is 2X faster than the previous A4. Not only that. The new GPU is a massive 9X faster and takes gaming to a whole new level.

Apple tops the list for reliability and service

PC World recently conducted a survey based on reliability and service provided by manufacturers. The survey indicates consumer feedback for a period of one year. Apple “smoked the competition” when it came to desktop, notebook and smartphones. It seems Asus also did well among both desktop and laptop owners.

iPad clone shows up in China, runs on Android

Although most Apple fans would hate to see something like this, we wanted to mention this anyway. Yet another clone from China, this time it is the iPad. The device has a 10 inch display, runs a version of Android and is powered by a 600MHz ARM CPU. No matter what, we still have to agree this iPad clone looks darn close to the real thing.

10 billion songs downloaded from Apple iTunes, an achievement like no other

This Wednesday Apple reached another milestone with the company’s iTunes services. Seven years after the service was launched, the number of songs download surpassed the 10 billionth mark. The first billion downloads was reached in 2006 after which there have been over 9 billions downloads in the last 4 years. That’s massive!
