ASUS to launch the world’s cheapest eBook Reader

After the Eee PC saga and its super-success looks like the Taiwanese giant is all set to do the same in the eBook world. Called the Eee Reader (what else), the reader will be available in two versions. One of them will be officially the world’s cheapest eBook Reader and will be the budget version, while the premium version will provide additional features and will be slightly more expensive. The device will have dual touch-screens to enhance the effect of a real book.

ASUS launches P835 Touch Phone

Finally…the wait is over, ASUS eventually launches P835. It is powered by Windows Mobile 6.1 and has a 3.5″ screen with a whooping 800 x 480 resolution! With that quality of screen, no wonder everything looks lazor sharp on the P835. Ofcourse, the User Interface runs a finger-friendly application shell that takes your WinMo experience to the next level. There also seems to be a trackball (BlackBerry style), incase you are not a big fan of using the stylus.

ASUS debuts it’s humongous 18.4 inch W90-X1 laptop in the US: The ultimate desktop replacement?

The largest laptop I had ever used was my PowerBook 17″ G4. Even though it was less than 7 lbs, it felt really heavy. Gone are those days when you considered 17″ laptops to be your desktop replacement. Check out this laptop from ASUS which has a 18.4 inch screen and a weight of 11.5 lbs! (Holy mother earth!!)

ASUS’ weird PC-in-a-keyboard concept

CES 2009 seems to be overflowing with some really unconventional devices. The ASUS Eee Keyboard is definitely one of them. It is basically a keyboard with a PC integrated. You may think this to be weird, but if you look closely, you will find it interesting.

Android on ASUS Eee PC

Ok. Looks like Android is no longer limited to just mobile phones. As seen from the picture above, Android is running on a netbook, ASUS Eee PC 1000H. Believe it or not, it has reported that installation was easy, and the detection for the important hardware peripherals in the netbook was no hassle either. Overall, the netbook was atleast ready for minimum/functional computing.

ASUS to launch Android phone in 2009

ASUS is going to launch a new Android-powered cellphone in the first half of next year. Uptil now, ASUS was a complete suppoter of Windows Mobile based handheld devices. Now that Google made a real good impression on the consumers, ASUS wants take their shot with Android. And…it is likely to be better looking than the T-Mobile G1 !
