‘Elevated Bench’ gives you good views of the road

A bench in the park is boring. There’s no fun it anymore, since it’s just too common. So here’s a new idea from Israeli designer Itay Ohaly. The public bench is constructed at the top of the street-light pole. It is yet to be seen whether this causes any distraction for the drivers though.

The Bamboo Bench

Check out this bamboo bench by Elena Goray and Christoph Tönges. Called the Pile Isle, the bench comprises of a bundle of brown bamboo poles held together just by four belts of stainless steel. Simple and cool, the bench has the natural feel to it, that is hard to resist. Be it the park or the city, the Pile Isle brings in the earthy feeling that we so much miss in the concrete jungles.

We have come across many amusing furniture designs that used the space saving criteria like the gargantua and the chair. Not only that but even the storage structure in Tetris style looked interesting too, but this one is all the more amusing in its form with a representation of man’s best friend.
