Microsoft working on power slashing application to reduce electricity waste

Research shows that companies (collectively) waste at least $2.8 billion a year on electricity charges. That’s a huge waste, which needs immediate attention from all of us. Now Microsoft Research is coming up with a new app that will help slash power wastage. Termed as the “sleep proxy system”, this application will allow access to all computers in an enterprise network, while staying switched “off” or in a “stand by” mode.

Gorgeous lamps from recycled plastic PET bottles

Again we bring before you some lamps which definitely are different from what we have already seen. The cassette tape lamps not only added glow and glitter to a room but defined how discarded or obsolete things could be reused properly[ saving the earth from being the plastic holder]. Similarly these lamps in the pictures show how recycled plastic PET bottles can be utilized and re-purposed to create such gorgeous lamps.

Recharge your gadgets with Toyota Prius Solar flowers

Gigantic showy flowers are being placed at different cities in United States by Toyota as a part of the marketing campaign of its 2010 Toyota Prius. These temporary installations which emphasize the message “Harmony Between Man, Nature and Machine” were placed in Boston’s Prudential Plaza and will be seen in cities like New York, Chicago, Seattle, San Francisco, and Los Angeles.

Cute Robot DustCart makes waste management a breeze

This cute green Robot, named DustCart, specializes in collection of  garbage when summoned by any household within its service area. This robot has been designed for places where large garbage trucks cannot enter. It goes to the particular caller, asks for the ID, collects and then carries the trash to the waste disposal area. The picture shows the robot in Peccioli, Italy being tested.

Creepy way of recycling bath water that just might work
