Google China may shutdown its doors by April 2010

After a lot of confusion, whether Google China will stay back in the country…it finally seems, it won’t. Google requested the Chinese government to allow all search results to show up on the company’s Chinese search edition, which was obviously declined by the government, hence all the trouble.

Facebook surpasses Google to become the most visited website in the U.S.

Social networking website Facebook surpassed the search giant Google as the most visited website in the U.S. Although this is not a world-wide data, still we all have to appreciate the fact that Facebook jumped a massive 185% in a year (based on U.S. traffic). For a small or low ranked website this is no big deal, but for a website which is already in the top 5 list, it is a huge colossal leap. On a comparative scale the traffic for Google increased by a meager 9% for the same period. And when you combine Google.com and Facebook.com? The company recently acquired DocVerse which offers true real-time online collaboration on Microsoft Office documents. This move might take Google Docs to a whole new level.

Google to sell electricity, becomes more than an internet search company

The Federal Regulatory Energy Commission (FERC) has officially permitted the usage of Google Energy as a utility. The internet search giant can now sell energy, but unlike other electricity providers, Google wants to go carbon neutral. The company plans to focus on building numerous solar panels and fuel cells to power its own infrastructure (which partially it already does), while whatever it generates extra, can be sold to the consumers. Not bad an idea.
