Japan reveals new maglev train prototype
Japan recently revealed a new maglev train prototype called Series L0, that can achieve speeds up to 311mph or 501km/hr. A single train can carry about 16 carriages that can accommodate around 1000 commuters.

The highest recorded speed of a MagLev (Magnetic Levitation) train was tested in Japan in 2003. So how much was the speed? A mind-boggling 581 km/h (361 mph) which is 6 km/h faster than the conventional TGV speed record.
