Microsoft’s XBox 360 is still the no. 1 gaming console in the US

Although the XBox 360 is aged, it still is the best selling console in the US, for a whopping 27 months straight. The company recently revealed that it sold 261,000 Xbox 360′s last month. “In March, Xbox 360 maintained its position as the number one console in the U.S., selling more units than any other console and marking the 27th consecutive month as the best-selling console.

Microsoft launches Xbox Live app for iPhone and iPad

For the first time ever, the Redmond giant brings its gaming services to the iOS platform, both for the iPhone and the iPad. The UI of the app is very similar to that of the Windows Phone 7 OS. So, whether an iOS user enjoys the experience or not clearly depends on the user’s taste.

Interesting shadow puppet experiment using Kinect hack

You can probably do more than you think using the new Kinect for XBox 360. Here’s a quick evidence from Emily Gobeille and Theo Watson who connected it to a laptop by using the libfreenect Kinect drivers and ofxKinect. “The openFrameworks system tracks the elbow, wrist, thumb, and tips of the fingers to map a skeleton onto the movement and posture of an animated puppet.

Crysis 2 graphics reported to be more than just ‘spectacular’

Crysis has been around from November 2007. Other than being one of the most realistic video games ever, it is also amazing fun to play. And now its next edition a.k.a. Crysis 2, scheduled to be released sometime later in 2010, has reported to be literally ‘jaw-dropping’. It’s just ridiculously realistic and killer fun. Developed by Crytek and based on the powerful CryEngine 3, the game will be released for Sony PlayStation, Microsoft Windows and XBox 360.
