A positive approach combined with a little support goes far and wide. Smile Squared has tried to make an effort by not only taking a greener step with making bamboo tooth brushes but also making those available to underprivileged children in poor countries where a simple brush is unaffordable. [Looking for good ‘karma’ then you could pitch in as well. Learn how?]
With each brush you buy Smile Squared plans to donate one to a child, targeting about a million donations by 2015. The project is led by Eric and Geri Cope who on a visit to Guatemala came across the sorry situation at the dental camps that were organized to provide treatment to needy children. What they realized was that their oral health would have been better off had they had brushed regularly but unfortunately most of them did not have a toothbrush.
Each Smile Squared bamboo brush is priced at $5.95 and comes in both adult and child size. Either you could opt for the buy one option which automatically results in a single donation or you could directly make a donation of two brushes for the same amount. Details available at Smilesquared. Till February 7400 brushes have been distributed. Then why not make a change to a child’s life and even the environment?
