The installation resembling a huge hamster wheel was created as an experimental artwork by two artists named Ward Shelley and Alex Schweder. Titled ‘In Orbit’, the 25 feet wide wheel was made home by the artists for a period of 10 days [ 28th Feb to 9th March].
The structure built in wood and steel comprised of the necessary furniture and fixtures required in everyday life featuring desks, chairs, beds, in addition to kitchens and bathrooms.
While Ward Shelley resided on the top/outer part of the wheels rim, Alex Schweder stayed on in the inside, both thereby carefully collaborating their moves to carry on tasks in their rotating shelter.
The big wheel was on display at The Boiler, New York till 5th April 2014.
